Concerning the tools to draw the comics
Most comic artists are using pen nib(penpoint) in Japan.
Uncommonly, there are artists who draw with the felt-tip pen, too. A lot of artists are using G-pen. G-pen is peculiar pen nib of Japan established only in Japan. |

The size of paper which draws the comics is B4 size.
B size is an industrial standard of Japan. The B4 size is 257mm * 364mm. (1inch =25.4mm) The inside frame is 180mm * 270mm. Professional comic artists draw on this size paper. When the comics book is printed, the manuscripts reduce by 83% and are printed. |

Pen nib which I use are all ZEBRA. I'm using G-pen to draw a main line. Maru-pen is used to draw the background. Spoon-pen is used to draw the frame line. A Japanese brush of PENTEL is used to paint out with the black. |
The ink which I use is ink of PILOT. The plastic eraser which I use is AIR-IN of PLUS or MONO of TOMBOW. I use LIQUID PAPER and POSTER COLOUR of NICKER to fix mistakes. |
I use the screen tone. The screen tone is a brand name of Letraset.
However, this name is used generically of these materials.
The screen tone is a seal on which the dot pattern is printed. This is pasted to the picture. Various expressions can be done by using these. I'm using the screen of I.C (I.C SCREEN), MAXON (COMIC PATTERN), DESIGN ToNE and SE (DELETER screen). The price is from 220 yen a piece to 460 yen. The size is B4 size. |
