I have participated in Furtherconfusion
also this year. NEKO_NO_HITO-san joined newly this year. For him, the visit to America is the first time. Ken Singshow-san, Yamanekoya-san, and Karabiner-san besides us participated in the convention. |
| 今年もまたFurtherconfusionに参加して参りましたよ。今年はNEKO_NO_HITOさんが新たに加わりました。彼は渡米も海外旅行も初めてです。今回はNEKO_NOさんのお仕事の都合で、渡米は1月22日から26日と短くなっています。すてけんさんと山猫屋さんとカラビナさん達は別ツアー(おもちゃ買いツアー、サンディエゴへもGO!)を組んでの参加です。彼らは我々よりもちょいと長く滞在されます。
今年も日暮里から京成電鉄を使います。日暮里でNEKO_NO_HITOさんと合流し、成田空港まで一直線です。京成 日暮里駅-成田空港駅は1000円。 今回の航空運賃は諸経費込みで54,590円。去年より1000円ちょい安いです。高田馬場のCASで購入しました。上手くすればもっと安く買える場合があります。 |
| * What is Furtherconfusion? In it, personified animals who appear to the comics and animation are the conventions which favorite people hold. This year's convention was held in San Jose on January 22-26. A big and small comic convention seems to have been held somewhere in the United States every month. Especially, the furry convention has been held more frequently than Japan. The United States is furry convention advanced country. |
| * Furtherconfusionって何?。 ファーザー コンフュージョンと読みます。漫画やアニメーションなどに登場する、擬人化された動物達が好きな人達(Furry ファーリーと言います)が集まって開催されるコミックコンベンションです。今年は1月22日から26日まで、カリフォルニア州のサンノゼで開催されました。 アメリカでは、この様な大小のコミックコンベンションが、ほぼ毎月全米の何処かで開催されているそうです。特に、ケモノ系(ファーリー系)コンベンション(Confurence, Anthrocon 等)は日本よりも頻繁に開催されていていて、アメリカはケモノ・コンベンション先進国です。 |

NEKO_NO_HITO-san and I left Narita International Airport on the afternoon of January 22.
Ken Singshow-san left Narita about two hours later than we, and went directly to the San Jose international airport where the convention was held. Supper was beef or chicken. And, breakfast was a sandwich of the cheese and the ham. We spent for nine hours, and arrived at the San Francisco international airport (SFO) on the morning of January 22. We got on Air Train, went to the rent-a-car center, and borrowed the rent-a-car. Air Train had not opened last year. However, this was able to be used this year and it was convenient. |

| 今回の航空会社はノースウェスト。機体は今は無きダグラス社のDC-10。1月22日午後3時、我々は成田を発ちました。
すてけんさん達は我々より2時間ほど遅く成田を発ち、会場の有るサンノゼ国際空港へ直接乗り込みます。 機内は9割ほど埋まっています。機内食の夜食はビーフかチキンで、朝食がチーズとハムのサンドウィッチ(美味い!)でした。 成田から飛ぶこと9時間、1月22日の午前7時半頃、我々はサンフランシスコ国際空港(SFO)に到着しました。 いつもならこの写真の所にレンタカーセンター行きのシャトルバスの停留所があるのですが、今年は無くなっていました。代りにAir Trainという循環式の無人電車が去年開通し、このおかげで空港から出る事無くレンタカーセンターやBART、Caltrainの駅まで行ける様になっていました。乗るのに階段も段差もなく、とても便利です。 |

This is a rent-a-car which we borrowed. This is CHEVROLET Malibu. I knew the gasoline fee in America, and was surprised. It is 30-35 cents/liter. The gasoline fee in Japan is 90-100 yen/liter. |
| 今回 我々の借りたレンタカー。CHEVROLET Malibuです。エコノミーサイズを日本で予約した際、2ドアしかないと言われ、尚且つハーツのウェブでの画像がちっちゃな韓国車だったのでショボイ車だと思っていたのですが、現地でこの車を見てびっくり。カローラクラスでトランクも広く、全く狭さを感じませんでした。でもやっぱり燃費は悪いです。 ドライブ中はアニメソングを垂れ流そうと思っていたのですが、カーステレオにCDプレイヤーしかなかったのです。カセットプレイヤーが付いていると思って、ポータブルMP3プレイヤと出力用のカセットアダプタを持って行ったのですが、私の目論みは全てパ〜。 アメリカでのガソリンの料金を聞いたのですが、30-35セント/リッターだそうです。安いなぁ。 |
